SEARCH Study: Text Messages and Automated Phone Reminders for HPV Vaccination in Uganda: Randomized Controlled Trial

SEARCH Study: Text Messages and Automated Phone Reminders for HPV Vaccination in Uganda: Randomized Controlled Trial

Messages included both reminders about the needed dose as well as educational information about the importance of the HPV vaccine and were based on a successful previous study [17], as well as 85 key informant interviews with caregivers (n=30), adolescents (n=30), health care workers (n=11), school (n=10), and government officials (n=4). First, team members identified the key content, timing, and framing for each message based on the interviews.

Systematic Identification of Caregivers of Patients Living With Dementia in the Electronic Health Record: Known Contacts and Natural Language Processing Cohort Study

Systematic Identification of Caregivers of Patients Living With Dementia in the Electronic Health Record: Known Contacts and Natural Language Processing Cohort Study

Of note, only 11% (n=88) of our cohort of people living with dementia had an associated proxy portal account. To aid in the identification of text related to caregiving and listed caregiver information, we used a list of caregiver key terms developed by Mahmoudi et al [18]. We modified the list to remove any terms of formal paid caregivers (eg, nurse, aide), included the terms “in law” and “carer,” and added common abbreviations such as “DIL” for daughter-in-law and “dtr” for daughter.

Integration of a Mental Health App (e-MICHI) Into a Blended Treatment of Depression in Adolescents: Single-Group, Naturalistic Feasibility Trial

Integration of a Mental Health App (e-MICHI) Into a Blended Treatment of Depression in Adolescents: Single-Group, Naturalistic Feasibility Trial

Baseline demographic and clinical characteristics of participants (N=36) in the feasibility trial, including age, gender, distribution across outpatient centers, baseline depression severity, educational backgrounds, and prior treatment experience. While 50% (n=17) of participants successfully completed all modules, 74% (n=25) of participants completed at least the first 5 modules covering all therapeutic content (Table 4).

Improving Diet Quality of People Living With Obesity by Building Effective Dietetic Service Delivery Using Technology in a Primary Health Care Setting: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Improving Diet Quality of People Living With Obesity by Building Effective Dietetic Service Delivery Using Technology in a Primary Health Care Setting: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

P values A sample size of 342 participants (n=171 per group) will have 90% power to detect a difference in change between arms of at least 5% of body weight at 12 months between groups, using a conservative estimate of SD, at 90% power and 5% level of significance. Assuming 20% (n=86) of participants are not followed up, this would necessitate 430 (215 in each group) participants to be recruited.

#GenderAffirmingHormoneTherapy and Health Information on TikTok: Thematic Content Analysis

#GenderAffirmingHormoneTherapy and Health Information on TikTok: Thematic Content Analysis

Fifteen videos were determined ineligible for analysis based on non-English language (n=6), country code in the European Union or China (n=1), GAHT not mentioned in the video (n=6), duplicate (n=1), or video post removed following the scrape (n=1). The remaining 69 videos were included in our analysis. The median (IQR) video duration was 56 (23‐73) seconds. Video characteristics and creator demographics are summarized in Table 2.

Uncovering Social States in Healthy and Clinical Populations Using Digital Phenotyping and Hidden Markov Models: Observational Study

Uncovering Social States in Healthy and Clinical Populations Using Digital Phenotyping and Hidden Markov Models: Observational Study

Where we use “1-hot” encoding for the latent variable, such that ztn=1 if the latent variable at time t belongs to the class n, and 0 otherwise. The different components of this model are described in greater detail in the subsequent sections. The HMM model was implemented and fitted using the R package depmix S4 [22]. During model training, the expectation-maximization algorithm was used to maximize the expected joint log-likelihood of the model parameters.

Mainstream Smart Home Technology–Based Intervention to Enhance Functional Independence in Individuals With Complex Physical Disabilities: Single-Group Pre-Post Feasibility Study

Mainstream Smart Home Technology–Based Intervention to Enhance Functional Independence in Individuals With Complex Physical Disabilities: Single-Group Pre-Post Feasibility Study

All (n=17, 100%) participants had upper extremity motor deficits, and additional functional challenges were common. Some (n=7, 41%) participants reported visual challenges, with 6 (35%) retaining functional vision and 1 (6%) being legally blind. Some (n=7, 41%) participants experienced speech difficulties, and 1 (6%) reported auditory challenges. Moreover, some (n=8, 47%) participants faced sensory limitations. All (17/17, 100%) participants used powered wheelchairs for mobility.
