Benefits and Limitations of Teledermatology in German Correctional Facilities: Cross-Sectional Analysis

Benefits and Limitations of Teledermatology in German Correctional Facilities: Cross-Sectional Analysis

During the last decades, telemedicine in various settings has become a useful tool to support health services [22]. In 2018, the 121st German Medical Congress approved an amendment to the medical professional code of conduct (Muster-Berufsordnung für die in Deutschland tätigen Ärztinnen und Ärzte [MBO-Ä]) and enabled remote telemedical care [23]. Since 2019, German correctional institutions have started to use telemedicine for dermatology requests [20,24].

Nurse-Delivered Telehealth in Home-Based Palliative Care: Integrative Systematic Review

Nurse-Delivered Telehealth in Home-Based Palliative Care: Integrative Systematic Review

Most providers felt that support using telemedicine can only be provided safely by health providers who have extensive experience in palliative care [65].  The nurses preferred to have a nurse lead the conference (71.4%). The physicians also revealed a preference for a nurse leader (57.2%) [61]. Low Earth Orbit Communication Satellites: A Positively Disruptive Technology That Could Change the Delivery of Health Care in Rural and Northern Canada

Canada has a long-standing history of using telemedicine, starting with Dr Max House, a founder of Memorial University’s medical school and considered a telemedicine pioneer worldwide. There are many definitions of telemedicine and various synonymous terms, like telehealth, e Health, connected health, and health telematics. All these definitions and synonyms include at least 2 key components: geographic separation between medical expertise and the patient and technology-mediated interaction.

Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Among at Risk Populations: Protocol for Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis

Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Among at Risk Populations: Protocol for Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis

Tele-retina is a branch of telemedicine that delivers eye care remotely. Retinal images and data are collected and transferred via telecommunication technology to eye specialists [15]. Previous research has noted that it is a more cost-effective alternative than the standard screening in detecting DR among lower-income individuals with limited access to eye care [15].
